Jed Smith Jed Smith is Managing Director, Quantitative Research with the National Association of Realtors®. He has worked on real estate issues for the past 20 years, providing input on a variety of housing, commercial real estate, tax, and planning issues. Recently he has been involved in several international studies.
Scholastica(Gay) Cororaton Gay Cororaton, Research Economist, writes about real estate market conditions and home-buying activity of international clients using data collected from the REALTORS® Confidence Index Survey, the Survey of International Home Buying Activity, and publicly available statistics.
Thomas Doyle Thomas “T.J.” Doyle, Director of Marketing and Communications, focuses on marketing the products and services the Research Division produces to members and non-members alike. T.J. oversees the Research Divisions social media presence, promoting NAR Research to members, state and local associations, the media, Congressional staffers, and other real estate-related industry groups. T.J. attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.
Meredith Dunn, Research Communications Representative, assists in managing and producing Research content on Realtor.org as well as on various social media sites. She produces infographics, video content for Research, coordinates the department webinars and other social media outreach projects. Meredith has a MA from Cornell University.
Ken Fears Ken Fears is the Director of Regional Economics and Housing Finance Policy. He focuses on regional and local market trends found in the Local Market Reports and the Market Watch Reports . He also writes on developments in the mortgage industry and foreclosures.
Danielle Hale is the Director of Housing Statistics. Danielle works with a team to produce NAR’s monthly Existing Home Sales, Pending Home Sales, Housing Affordability Index, quarterly Metro Area Median Prices and Qualifying Income, and annual Metro Area Affordability Index. She also studies tax issues, the wealth impact of home ownership, and different measures of home prices. Danielle is a graduate of Florida State University.
Michael Hyman, Research and data analyst, collects and disseminates timely, accurate and comprehensive real estate data and conducts economic analysis in order to inform and engage members, consumers, policymakers and the media. He also prepares monthly graphs of Existing Home Sales and housing affordability.
Jessica Lautz Jessica Lautz is the Director of Member and Consumer Survey Research. The core of her research focuses on demographic trends for both NAR members and housing consumers, and issues such as: how housing preferences shift in an ever changing market place, the consistent trends of consumers for the desire to own a home, consumers search to find a real estate agent, and buyer psychology. She writes annual studies including the Member Profile, the Commercial Member Profile, the Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, the Home Buyer and Seller Generational Trends report, the Investment and Vacation Home Buyers Survey, the Profile of Buyers’ Home Feature Preferences, and the Profile of Real Estate Firms. Jessica discusses the results of these studies in blog articles, Twitter chats, webinars, as well as in major media outlets and keynote presentations. Jessica is a graduate of the American University Master’s of Public Policy Program and has undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Law and Justice from Central Washington University.
George Ratiu George Ratiu, Director of Quantitative & Commercial Research, manages a research portfolio focused on macroeconomic trends, commercial real estate, and global investments. He discusses real estate research in major media outlets and provides economic and industry insights in publications and keynote presentations across the U.S. He produces NAR’s Commercial Real Estate Outlook—a quarterly forecast of core property sector fundamentals. He also directs national projects focused on regional market performance and financing—CCIM’s Quarterly Market Trends, SIOR’s Commercial Real Estate Index, and the REALTORS® Commercial Market Survey.
